Can a winner be anonymous?
This year, a lady won a jackpot worth $560 millions. As instructed she wrote her name on the back of the ticket which made her name public. Had she written the name of a trust, her Identity could have remain anonymous. But she want to court complaining that she had made a huge mistake and would like to remain anonymous.
Court ruled in her favor stating that she can keep her prize money as well as anonimity.
How to claim your Prize?
1.When the amount is $599 or less:
It can be claimed via any Lottery retailer or by mail.
When claiming via mail, one has to write his name, address and telephone number at the back of the ticket and have to mail it at the below address :

- Prize amount between $600 and $9,999: it can be claimed at iLotteryportal. Amount would be debited within 4-5 business days in your account.
- Prize more than $10000: one has to claim this amount either via visiting NH lottery headquarters or by mail.
Where the money goes?
25% of the proceeds goes toward the New Hampshire schools. 63% of the amount goes in the form of prize pay out
6% is distributed as the retail commission while 3% includes the cost of sales and other expenses. Remaining 3% is used in the and expenses.
Nearly 2 billions has been invested in the public education while 4.4 billions has been paid out in the form of prize to the winner.
