Revenue Distribution
Approximately 50-60% is added the game prize pool while 30-40% is given towards Education Enhancement Trust Funds, 6 % is paid to the retailers, 2% to the online vendors and remaining 2% is used as to cover the operational costs which include advertising as well.
Florida Bright Future?
Apart from donating towards education funds, it has also established “Bright Future” Scholarship program which helps the students to pay off their college fees. This initiative started in 1997 and till then Florida Lottery has funded the education of more than 6,00,000 students. It includes three types of rewards:

- Florida Medallion Scholar Award
- Florida Academy Scholar Award
Do I have to pay Taxes?
It does not collect tax on the prize money but they are taxable by the federal government. Also, it would be withheld from both Cash Option as well as the one-time annuity payment.
How to Claim FL Lottery?
Just like any other US Lottery ticket, do not forget to sign your ticket as soon as you are purchasing it.
- If the prize money is less than $600: you may claim it from an authorized retailer, Florida District office or at Lottery Headquarters. This prize money doesn’t require filling of any claim form.
