Kansas Lottery Win Prize
Around 45% of the total proceeds are kept aside as the prize money for the winners. In the year 2008, it paid the prize money to the winners contributing 56% of the revenue.
29% of the ticket sales go to the state gaming revenue fund, 4% to the cost of sale covering areas like online vendor fees, advertising etc., 6% to the lottery retailers as the commission and 5% are used to cover the administrative expenses.

If the amount is less than $599, it can be either claimed at the retailer location or can be claimed at the Lottery Office in Topeka.

If the amount is more than $600, then it can only be claimed via Lottery Office present in Topeka. Players will receive the amount in the form of a check in the mail. If a player wants, he/she can also opt for online payment directly into their bank account. Even in case of online payment, avoid check would be required.
How Much Tax Would I Have To Pay?
25% of the amount would be levied as Federal tax while 5% would be levied as State tax.
